Chasing Lovely

Studio Update #2

We wanted to fill all you Lovelies in on what’s been going on these past few days!

Russell Wolff, Glenn Snow, Greg Foresman, Greg Herrington

We spent practically the entire weekend in studio recording. The band laid down the majority of their instrumentals and we recorded our vocals. Working with Martina McBride’s band was so cool! Greg Foresman plays guitar and mandolin, Glenn Snow is on bass and Greg Herrington on the drums. We were blown away by their talent, and felt so blessed to have the opportunity to work with them. They were so easy to talk to, which made it easy to communicate our vision for each song. Watching the producer and musicians take that vision and bring it to life with their expertise was INCREDIBLE! It was invigorating and inspiring to be working in that environment with such hard working musicians and to have the energy bouncing off everyone in the room. It was really exciting to watch everything come together.

Bruce Bouton

On day two, Bruce Bouton joined the session on pedal steel. Garth Brooks and Reba are just a couple of the Grammy-award winning artists whose albums he’s played on or toured with. It’s been our dream to hear our songs with all these instruments. We have a fiddle player who plays with Martina and is currently touring with another top name in country music who will also be laying down some tracks for us.

We had purposely done minimal singing the week prior to going in studio in order to save our voices. During these three days we had to be very careful of what we ate and drank because we didn’t want anything to affect our voices in a bad way. Our producer stopped us in our tracks when we thought we were going to have some macaroni and cheese. So there was lots of water, some throat coat tea, and a small bag of plain Lays potato chips. Unlike most people, we both hate the taste of potato chips, but the oil and salt can actually have a nice effect when singing…but all other snack options sitting around at the studio (like Cheetos and ice cream) were a no-no for us!

We needed our energy to be high so it would come across on the vocal tracks, so we did a lot of dancing, foot stomping, and visualization to pump ourselves up. When we wrapped up late into the evening of day three, we celebrated by munching on a couple delicious pretzels that were off limits earlier.

We are SO INSANELY EXCITED about this CD, and can’t wait to hear what the final mixes are going to sound like. To see pictures come check out the Studio album on our Facebook page.

Another BIG, HAPPY, VIRTUAL-HUG THANK YOU to all of our backers who supported our Kickstarter campaign. You guys made this possible, and we are forever grateful.

Love & hugs,

Chloe & Taylor
